Job Title: Construction Helper

Job Summary: As a Construction Helper, you will provide essential support to construction teams by assisting with various tasks on job sites. Your role involves helping with the preparation and completion of construction projects, including moving materials, operating tools, and performing basic construction duties to ensure the project progresses smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport materials and tools to and from the construction site. Ensure materials are stored properly and safely.
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites, including setting up scaffolding, and protective barriers, and ensuring that areas are clean and organized.
- Tool Operation: Operate hand and power tools under the supervision of skilled tradespeople. Maintain and clean tools and equipment as needed.
- Assisting Tradespeople: Support skilled tradespeople with their tasks, including holding materials, measuring, and cutting.
- Basic Construction Tasks: Perform basic construction duties such as mixing concrete, digging trenches, and assisting with the installation of building components.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
- Clean-Up: Clean construction sites by removing debris, disposing of waste, and ensuring the site is orderly at the end of each workday.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to project specifications.
- Documentation: Assist with keeping records of daily work activities, including materials used and hours worked. Timecards will need to be submitted weekly to the office manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in construction or a related field is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials, tools, and techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry 30 Ibs or more.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with specific types of construction (e.g., residential, commercial).
- Certification in basic construction safety or first aid.
Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Authorized to Work in the U.S.

Target Base Range: $15 – $22
